Oblivion XI dont even think jay has the more finished version of this album anymore. 99% sure this is literally just the leak.
Why didnt he just ask Just Blaze tho
I feel like there’s a lot of confusion around this
The “leak” or whatever is probably the most finished and authentic version of what Jay Elec actually finished. There never was a finished Act II

I hate that Act I doesn’t get its respect
Like why is this thread bumped and stickied for act II but nothing for act I
Should probably just be a brand new thread for both re releases tbh but
I just hate that two of my favorite projects ever Act I and Solace get ignored and treated as not real projects

I feel like there’s a lot of confusion around this
The “leak” or whatever is probably the most finished and authentic version of what Jay Elec actually finished. There never was a finished Act II
There was never a "finished" version offically but there's definitely newer versions than this one forsure

I still feel like the whole leaked and unfinished nature of Act II is part of the magic trick and mythology of it
Also I don’t think it gets talked about enough how relevant this was when it dropped
“The world is a hospital, we on the respirator” dropping at the beginning of the pandemic was crazy. Not to mention how the technology stuff is even more relevant than when he wrote it.

What do people speculate could be on it? Different vocal recordings for Memories and Merlot and Nights of the Roundtable? Or Ye features on New Illuminati or Tough Love or just different mixes? I’m trying to imagine what else could’ve been on it

Although it wasn't intentional, it definitely adds to the magic trick and mythology of it, but only if Act 3 eventually drops imo.
If Act 3 doesn't come then it still adds to it, but mot quite as much.
Personally I don't mind Act 2 not being fully finished, it adds a certain charm to it for me and doesnt take away from how good it is. The shame is that the masses didn't get to hear it as it would be in the list of all time great albums, and likely would have influenced other artists too.
