Another question that may be good to ask, how long do you all stick with a book before giving up on it if you're not feeling it ?
Sorry to hear this bro. One of the realest around here.
I am still dealing with crime and punishment due to being lazy and procrastinating. Really wish I could get back to my reading habits when I was younger. Can't say I am enjoying Crime and Punishment yet but will stick with it for now
Thank you, bruh.
It's kinda tough, and depends on the book really. If it's a book that gets a lot of praise, I try to give it the benefit of the doubt and power through it. But sometimes if you ain't feelin it, you ain't feelin it. Nothing wrong with that. It might be that Crime & Punishment isn't the type of genre of book you're into.
What kind of genre are you into?
Thank you, bruh.

yeah this is true, I am like 70 pages in it, and I am gonna keep going. I think it could be just like I am not the biggest fan of Doestovetsky, as I think I also struggled with notes from the underground.
I'm not sure exactly what genre it is I like, maybe dystopian ? I only really read a lot as a child, harry potter etc, as an adult, authors I have liked and read more of would be like Orwell and Murakami. Got a lot to explore still though.

Can we change it to a book every two months? I love this but I feel like we need a little more time. I was still finishing Dune when we were moving on to the next book.
KTT2 Book Club,
August was a rough month for me with all of the fires in NorCal and being evacuated from my home among other things. Things finally have settled down for me, but the book club shall continue on. Please let me know if you're interested in reading Catch 22 for this month, and i'll add you to OP

S*** bruh that's some s*** you had to deal with.
What's it like with the evacuation and insurance and s*** like dat? You getting any stacks off of it?
Also how's that Berserk and how's you enjoy Hyperion?

House is insured, because this ain't the first fire that's come close to me, but the evacuation s*** is scary bro. Had cops knocking telling you to leave, and the streets was dumb packed trying to get out of the neighborhood. On top of that, once you're out, they don't let you back in. We try to take all the essential stuff, but even afterwards you realize that there's just so much s*** you can lose in the house. s*** depressing fr. Luckily it didn't get our house. it was probably a hill or two away though.
didn't get to finish Hyperion unfortunately, but ima have to get caught up with it. took a break from Berserk too because i was breezing through that bih haha
I'm at 50% with Catch 22. This gotta be the most incompetent unit in military history
There's some funny moments in here definitely

I gave up on Siddhartha at like 23% because I just wasn't f***ing with the content plus I didn't care to find out what happened. Still prefer to finish a book if I can help it, unless it's some pseudo-spiritual deep type novel (I have no patience for those)

bruh common siddartha is not a pseudo-spiritual deep type novel. Hesse is an absolute goat.
If you didnt like Siddartha you might wanna try Steppenwolf by Hesse it touches up on the same aspects but is waaaaay darker. its my personal fav by him and ive read most of his stuff
talking about "pseudo-spiritual deep type novel" did anyone here read the alchemist by paulo coelho? this is the definition of a pseudo deep novel for me lmao got it recommended by a friend who knows i love Hesse but i barely made it through
This book is getting darker
youre reading the picture of dorian gray now??
edit: nevermind thought this was the book chat thread
Looking for some recommendations for October's book. Preferably something that would be more in line with Fall time or Halloween or just some scary s*** maybe.

I'll try finish Siddhartha the steppenwolfe. Thanks for this
Finished Catch 22.
I liked it, though sometimes it gets much in terms of the adverbs and adjectives (you do notice them as you read) but the prose is still great.
The novel really brings out the madness of war, and I like that the events are in no particular order, which ramps up the chaotic nature of war (also appreciate how anti-war it clearly is, it being a war novel and all).
I low-key wanna find out what happens to Yossarian after he leaves for Switzerland but I heard the follow up was suuuper disappointing, soo...
I'll try finish Siddhartha the steppenwolfe. Thanks for this
steppenwolf and the picture of dorian gray def in my top 5
(both way better than catch 22 btw
)

Can someone recomend me a book?
I'm in my mid 20s. Enjoyed fantasy books like Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter before. I'm pretty easy going when it comes to reading.
