basically at the turn of the millenium, the universe resets to 10 years earlier. everyone realises this and can remember the first time they experienced it but cant do anything different this time. its a good read

Damn, that's a really interesting premise.

oh lemme get into the next one, currently reading Brave New World

I think this is a good idea.

Meditations by Marcus Arelious would be a nice one to start with. Short enough readings to do a “chapter” a day, & jam packed with conversation starters.

Great pick as well! Essencial reading for everybody imo

Does a time skip happen when Lady Jessica becomes a Reverend Mother? One moment she's pregnant and then has two year old Alia.

Things get really unclear when Paul starts tripping on the spice and begins to see across time.

Yeah theres a jump after Paul's dreams. It was very slick but they indicated it was a 2 year jump pretty quickly when the next chapter had started. was confused on Paul's trip too tbh. Kinda overlooked the spice and its effect on people a bit in general while reading smh

Okay I see that's what I was thinking. Didn't realize the spice had effect on people the first time around too.

Well no job rn, prolly fonishing my last 130 pages in the next day or two.

Whatever we do next we should find links for torrents of the texts/audiobooks

Most bookstores & libraries closed where i am.

But if one of us can find a file, may as well share so we can keep this going n keep our spirits up.

Dune has been an incredible read, I'm gonna move onto Messiah (and probably all the way onto Emperor). Ive read them before but the arc from Dune to God Emperor following the atreides family is incredible, the first novel is unmatched however (4 is pretty close for me though)

Despite all the hate, Lynch’s Dune has always been a staple in my house. Rewatched a few months back, and while yes it has aged poorly, I still appreciate it haha.

Funny, because I mentioned that it’s a household staple in our crib, and it’s one of my Dad’s fave thing ever, so when i asked him to rewatch with me he was f***ing juiced haha

my dad was the one who put me onto it the first time i read it.

i told him about this book club happening & he decided to reread, so we've been chatting about it lots.

he asked if he should make an account here n i was like NOPE
