Oldheads like music talk too 🤠
Yeah about stuff that dropped 20 years ago that they and the boys used to spin playing Halo in the living room together
i see this topic once a month but then users in every other thread talking about how tapped in and influential the site is, lol. i think it's somewhere right in the middle.
Yeah not to sound pretentious but I don't think the average person even cares about music like that.
So I do think ktt is more knowledgeable about music than your average person but that probably doesn't say much
"Bro you wanna listen to Doctor's Advocate and play MW2 splitscreen after school?" was the highlight of y'all lives smh
I mean I don't disagree but I will say that I know a bunch of younger gen z like early 20s and they want early 2000s music back too
If you're over 30 it's time to get off the Internet and raise your kids
Don’t tell me what to do

The average person just tryna hear stuff to ease the pain for the commute, cope with a breakup/death in the family, and to get turnt up at the gym/party/bar/club
Nothing wrong with that but the bar isn't high to be more "tapped in" than the average person who isn't passionate about music. Follow 5 hip hop IG pages and subscribe to TND and you're ahead of like 70% of people lol
Don’t tell me what to do
I'm calling CPS right now to get your old ass to wake up and help your son with the math homework instead of talking about how Take Care was the be all-end all of music

i personally don't have the data to back any of that
MBDTF dropped 13 years ago it is time to move on
Album of the life but life itself goes on. Kanye himself goes on. Hold it dearly to your heart, recognize that special era for what it was, and move on

Shut up, I woke up early to get ready for work and my son is still sleeping upstairs. He’s a high schooler who knows how to take care of himself, he’ll be fine

Quick they're around the corner get your son and leave before you lose him forever
Name one rap album after 2020 that’s not from a legacy artist that is as good as the loved albums from the 2000s and the 2010s.
/thread
Im out of touch and dont pretend otherwise, what would the point even be im ok with it
"The 2000s were better"
"New music sucks"
"Everything new is wack and the old stuff was categorically better"
Y'all are just washed. Times change, trends change, sounds change, etc. There can be a fair argument to have about certain growing pains as musical eras shift with regard to creative slumps and fluctuating commercial performance, but the vast majority of y'all are just clinging to old models and concepts of how music is supposed to work and are mad that the actually existing industry landscape is no longer operating on that model.
Tiresome to talk about because this site is filled with a bunch of tryhard borderline Gen Zers who have a superiority complex they need to flex over actual teenagers because they fell out of sync with the culture around the mid 2010s. Washed as hell, by 2028 this place gonna be Coli tier
hold up its quite literally true tho, quality wise albums are not viewed the same way they used to be.
the biggest rapper in the world hasnt released a narrative-styled album since nwts. the last release to have some sort of depth and character was mr morale.
like lets be honest if you compare the most popular rappers right now vs 90s-2000-2010-2016 its not even close in terms of album quality lmaoo. lets be honest here.
the good rappers are the ones who dont pop off anymore because its not what sells anymore. having some narrative and being able to actually RAP is not what sells anymore
. all of em are still practically underground for a reason
universally loved albums now were not universally loved at the time
Yeah they were
GKMC, MBDTF, NWTS, TC, Food & Liquor, etc were all loved on release
Im out of touch and dont pretend otherwise, what would the point even be im ok with it
Obvi I like staying up on new music but trithfully atp I’m more focused on making cool stuff with my friends

Not even going into the mainstream-underground discussion because that's been beaten into the ground
It's music, it's streamable, you gotta pay $0 to listen to it at this point, MTV is dead, radio is dead, just listen to it
I mean I don't disagree but I will say that I know a bunch of younger gen z like early 20s and they want early 2000s music back too
They want 2000s music back overall, and I don't blame them

The BlackstarKids nailed that perfectly. I need to post in that thread. Great music

Its cool
