I think Zendeya and Pattinson worked sooo well together in this, one of my favorite casting choices in a long long time
even though i wasn't hot on this film, I've enjoyed the discussions surrounding it. I think that goes to show there IS indeed some real meatiness to this film that's worth exploring on a rewatch for me.
bro i hated my theatre experience
i had to movie seat bc this one mf was munching on popcorn so loud. c*** was deadset so annoying. he literally finished one box, left and came back with another and continued to eat loud as F***.
Sounds terrible man. I try to go to my local indie theatre as much as I can because the theatre etiquette is infinitely better and I can avoid those types of people
you guys think youd still marry her?
I would
once she explained kinda why she didnt go through with it and it seemed like she just wanted attention more than actually wanted to kill anyone I think id get over it but learning that right before the wedding would have me postponing it for a short time.
Geez I loved this so much. Aside from the Sundance movies I saw, easily my favorite of 2026 so far. I usually hate flashbacks in movies but they did this so f***ing well, I was hooked instantly from the start.
Got damn Alana’s character was a hypocritical b**** and she nailed that role.
I really would love to read the screenplay for this.
Kristoffer is 3/3 for me
Bro when she’s on that bed in her bra and panties holding the rifle…..good god

I think it’s a great question the movie asked. I mean I kinda seen it as the kids would bully her at school, or was it just that one chick? So I can sorta see where it stems from to the point I could probably give grace? Especially since it wasn’t a reoccurring thing….idk…it’s for sure a tough question. I definitely wouldn’t act holier than thou like Alana character. B\*\*\*\* left a disabled person locked in a closet to die yet SHES mad????? “Ugh excuse me but MY COUSIN got shot!”
I’ll say this though in defence of this: I think this is where the decision to have everyone in the film be very privileged upper class people comes in to play. Like that dinner scene with 2 couples where Zendaya first reveals her past, I think it serves 2 purposes. 1, obviously to set up the entire conflict of the film. But 2, to show us that like… these people just sort of f***ing suck lol. This dude is so self righteous that he genuinely believes the worst thing he’s ever done is be scared of a dog. Alana Haims character is clearly immediately deplorable. The way all of them are talking about someone who would use heroin is horrible. They’re taking advantage of this high end catering testing service and treating it like a bar and getting drunk.
I think if the people in this film seem like they’re not acting normal, it’s because they’re not normal. They’re idiot self centred rich Jack asses.
This this this! I love the hypocrisy the film touches on. But I will say tho the black friend really wasn’t bad, he was the only one not cruel about it. He just was too p**** to check his GF
yea feel like it’s gonna be a lot of disappointed ppl, especially women, who go into this movie expecting a typical romance drama lol
Think so? I feel like the whole “what’s the big dark twist omg” is all I’ve seen ppl speculating on social media
If the girl explained the whole situation, and genuinely seemed like a changed person, then I really wouldn’t have any issue with it. At a certain point we have to let people change and grow from their past mistakes.
Also, I don’t think almost doing something holds anywhere near as much weight as actually doing a bad thing. I think that Rachel locking the disabled kid in the locker is objectively worse than Emma almost doing a school shooting
1000% and the fact she knew everyone was doing a search party and she STILL didn’t say s\*\*\*. Look Emma was 15 at the time, is that s\*\*\* f\*\*\*ing insane?? Obviously, but being she was so young it’s hard to not allow them to change into a full competent adult. Now if they almost did that s\*\*\* while being a grown woman say at 25, then that’s a different story.
shock then empathy
ask for context surrounding that but I wouldn't fixate on it and to be honest with you and it wouldn't have bothered me even that bad considering who she is presently but maybe I was just blinded by Zendaya's beauty and sort of naiive, inexperienced disposition her character has. like she seems so sweet and kind and so unlike the people that surround her... particularly the maid of honor and best man.
AND I'm willing to admit that maybe it is a gender thing too. like her being a woman who felt what she felt is more digestible than if a man had confessed that.
I think you was a little blinded bro, hearing ”I brought a rifle to school and only reason I didn’t execute is because there just happened to be another school shooting that ruined my plans” is NUTS. I think Patts paranoia was justified and regardless he still stuck by her side. The only character that truly seemed like a weirdo to me about it was Alana
I truly think there is no right or wrong reaction to Zendaya character. If you can look past and give grace or if it’s wayyy too much and you walk away. I think either reaction is correct. And to me that’s what makes this great.

Might check this out tmrw, don’t know much about it but ppl seem to be digging it
Good go in like Ray Charles
Again the flashbacks in this were so great. Between this and Challengers Zendaya really knows how to pick non-linear projects
Second viewing tonight. Movie is elite on second time. Favorite scenes were the dance practice and one of the scenes where he’s asking questions. the scenes showing the anguish, fear, and in some wishes in the mind of Charlie or Emma are a great filmmmaking choice
A lot of subtle judgmental pokes not just with the main four
