It's unfortunate that the family may have heard about this on Twitter or TMZ first, but when you're that big a star that's the reality of their lives. Kobe meant a lot to the entire world. Someone as big as Kobe dying in a public accident like this is going to get reported quickly.
This man gave us everything that he had, every single day, and he had already inspired millions throughout his life. So I'm not even that sad about the fact that he isn't here for us, but rather that he isn't able to enjoy his well-deserved retirement and spend time with his family, after all of those sacrifices that he had made during his career :(
But what he has meant to all of us and the impact he's had on so many people is something that's forever and that won't ever go, even if he isn't with us in this world.
