That’s my only point . Comparing it to others events wasn’t it . It’s more like an event for media . They get ad revenue from every click , every watch , every tear. Family figured out when we did . Why is this immediate news any of us need to know ? What is gained from us all posting “ rip” . Is it at times performative grieving to not feel alone rather than processing. There are people who immediately make jokes , some who make 5 post about it online . We all grieve different but I’m saying there are people profiting from pain

I agree with you but I mean that's their job

someone in the police force leaked it to them (mostly likely to profit themselves) so it just goes back to the police lol

I’m saying that job is rooting against humans inherently. Death gives them ratings in mass be it Kobe, juice wrld or a mass shooting . Living in fear is ratings . Feeling helpless is ratings

But specifically on Black Death especially I can’t lie it feels different . Our lives do matter but only when we are dead to add to their ratings to make money for companies we would never support through ads of our obituary which is composed of mistruths

Unfortunately that's the era we live in, in a world where television media is dying, social media is the main source of news for people. No one is going to TMZ.com or watching CNN unless it's a moment like this. As long as it's done tastefully I don't see a problem with it. Like it or not TMZ is an important news outlet, look at today when people were scrambling to figure out if he actually died, or if it was the whole family, TMZ is the final word in most cases.

I’m not blaming tmz because they know where the profit is. I’m asking when does rooting for death stop ?

TMZ literally reported it before his wife was even notified that her daughter and husband was dead...

There's something morally wrong about that, they shouldve have found out that way.

LAPD is big though, 10,000 officers not including dispatch, prosecutors etc. Someone will always sing, and the unions don't allow people to be fired easily. That being said people probably knew that this was Kobe's helicopter right away because he might be taking that same route every Sunday with that brand of helicopter. There is also an app where you can see what aircraft is in the air at what time, where it came from and where it is going.

But the scramble started because tmz broke the story first then updated later and now we figuring out 9 people on plane

    That’s irresponsible

    This isn’t immediately pressing news

They just like people who comment first
