idk. my parents have always been super chill about my dating life cause why do they give a f*** if they raised me already not get attached to people and focus on your happiness lol
my parents live thousands of miles away in 2 opposite sides of the country
To me showing my parents someone I'm talking to (in light of how I was raised) is a sign that said someone is starting to hold significance in my life that I would welcome her into my family life like that.
Versus, if I'm having a fling that we both know and agreed upon out the gate is short term, I'm not gonna do "boyfriend stuff" that'll make somebody (that originally thought this was gonna just be a casual thing) start to think "oh gee maybe he actually likes me" and start to catch feelings because of my actions just to turn around and go "yo, you not my girl tho"
Like that in itself is more crueler than just knowing where yall both stand as the "2am textee/callee" person lol.

You can treat somebody nice and go on cute dates and all that without doing extra s*** (e.g. inviting her to meet your parents. everyone from the southern tradition knows what the hell that usually means in the scheme of "relationship escalator" if you dont want your big booty casual fling to start making "my man my man my man my man my man" type of posts/songs about you, don't do things like that so you and her know it's just a roster/casual date thing.)

This is where I went wrong, started explicitly casual but I made the dates too damn cute. Probably because my need to be liked. Didn't introduce to the family though that's a step to far even for me. Learned my lesson. Feel like a date to a bar is the max you can do.
