On a very basic level do you have any conception of the fact each president in the modern era has laid the groundwork for most of the problems that are coming to a head at this moment?

I'm not saying each person is equivalent but when it comes to the GWOT, surveillance, bailing out banks, terrorism designations, parties as a whole being corporate interest captured and so on, this stuff is a constant.

Thats why i think the smug "u shouldve voted for the consultant brain democrat" argument doesnt hold weight. You should be mad at the democratic party for consistently isolating themselves from the great mass of Americans concerns to the point where Trump can get elected twice.

They held the door open for this s***. So many in politics just want a career. Your savior isnt going to be a democratic presidential candidate its going to come from as big a number of people as possible and this isnt even me saying not to vote or something.

But stop acting like electing some centrist democrat would be the great moral action of our time or something

The great moral action is fighting fascism not funding and supporting it (bush, obama, trump, biden/kamala, dems, republicans etc)

The dems were funding fascism so we decided to just create our fascism here. Have our own fascism fiesta right here.
I f***ing hate the dems so much dude ill just lick hitlers balls and let him start his fascism brigade right here. Lay his fascism right on my forehead. Let it drip onto my tongue. Its the dems fault im voting for fascism directly on my front lawn. I wish the dems didnt make me vote myself into a dictatorship that was very clear and obvious what we were heading into. 40 million people are about to be kicked off of food stamps because the dems didnt appeal to the working class enough. Not because of the direct actions of the regime in charge

You got it man. I don't think ive ever said the dems are the sacred hope for the country or anything. But yeah anyone with two brain cells should've put together how this s*** was gonna go. The dems could've done a better job but if you're that much of a f***ing idiot you'll vote yourself into a 3rd world country maybe we should shift the blame a little bit here to the people who directly made it happen.

Im gonna play some video games

And therein lies the fundamental disagreement. People who want to fix the system without a full teardown, as that would inevitably bring misery to millions (and no guarantee as to who/what wins on the other side) and accelerationists who see that as the only way. And while we debate, the right seizes power, making both desired outcomes less likely

Fix what system? The one that has 40 million people on food assistance on the first place?

The status quo is very bad and constantly necessitates millions of people in poverty and even the "middle class" ability to survive even remotely comfortably is crumbling as im sure youre aware. You cant reform here reform there your way out of that

Do i think its good when programs and legislation are passed that help relieve peoples needs and dire situations? yes? Is that enough? not even close and is a drop in the bucket compared to the overwhelming power of corporations and wealthiest/most well connected wlite. This is the system you expect them to allow reforms and wealth to be taken away from them. They are killing millions all over the world to keep this system in place in some way shape or form, as theyve done in the past and will continue to do unless people do something.

donald trump was and is a member of the same capitalist class that keeps both parties in line

    before and after his elections

democrats don't do anything to challenge this state of affairs and that's by design this is a right wing country and always has been

CEO pay compared to the average worker was between 20:1 and 30:1 in 1978. Its 280+:1 today. It wasnt always this s***ty

Yes because once again Reagan the beacon of this white supremacist capitalist system came in and ushered in neoliberalism along with other leaders around the world. basically the next stage in capitalist development

now we have this new but the same sort of neocolonial rupture again when it comes to palestine and sudan and so on because they have land and resources and since the USSR was destroyed there's no power that materially intervenes in these conflicts aside from relatively small groups

i'm yapping at this point throwing out mid but i do see the trump admin most likely creating his version of the post reagan aftermath but who knows what will come after

We just can't return to the same mentalíties that allowed us to get here in the first place. There was no genuine real opposition to this except for say, a Bernie and he eventually fell back in line with the establishment/machine when they told him to

real for mentioning that im reading up on it now and its a pretty interesting case, thanks for bringing it up

This makes me wonder if you'd be interested in the 3 episode 'series' on Musk and Tesla that TrueAnon did, basically talking about his sort of takeover of it and all the antics he would do to keep the shareholders engaged as well as the green tax credits that companies ended up trading around like assets almost (for lack of a better way to explain it)

Since you brought up ford the two of them have a couple similarities but not all seeing as how much time and difference in tech separates them

For anyone thats interested in that whole timeline i guess its tangentially related
