the Dems are to blame and honestly willing participants/ co-conspirators at this point.

Hakeem yapping for 9 hours just like Cory Booker did all to amount to nothing like they already knew it would

I agree that they are to blame for getting us where we are

But that in no way answered the post you replied to lmao

On a purely factual basis, they have no way of doing anything at this moment.

Would be genuinely curious if you could think of something they could be doing, but I feel like all the posts saying something about how Dems are doing nothing expect them to wave a wand and have 20 GOP house members, 5 GOP Senators, and 2 Supreme Court Justices drop dead

    I got you big dawg.

focus on "how to get back majority seats"

focus on "how do we not end up in this predicament again"

1 viable solution: how about we support a democrat who is adding some newfound energy and just won his local primary in demanding fashion and giving some people a reason to vote for the very first time (e.g. I am one of those people) and become a party that the people can believe in and want to come out and vote for in midterms again?

what dems do instead: cause infighting over said person because of a mean term he said about a foreign genocidal country that both democrat and republican voters majority can give 2 s***s about but...that same genocidal country matters more than....the country they should be focusing on?

This is how you don't "get back majority"

Brother when 3 house reps that were dems who were old asf and died could’ve made the difference and stopped this s*** but dems once again stroke their own f***ing ego and don’t listen to their party

Literally they should’ve been talking about this bill nonstop on every platform the past few weeks and you know what they’ve been doing instead?

Nagging probably the most recent popular socialist candidate for mayor in NY for not condemning a damn term about Israel during a GENOCIDE WERE ARMING.

Get your head out of your ass Democrat leadership NEEDS to be called out at every turn

Adding onto my previous post because now I see your expectation for them was to spam social media. That idea is flawed for 2 reasons:

    1) they were already doing that (I randomly just checked a corporate mainstream Dems insta, and you see a s*** ton of post on Eric Swalwells page about the bill)

    2) anyone that is paying attention to a politicians social media page is already very well informed of the bill and has clear opinions formed about it. You need to break through to the people that don’t follow politics, and they couldn’t give a flying f*** about legislation and certainly not a budget bill

    by playing the long game.

something republicans have mastered at. It's how they was able to get this bill passed.

before they was a bunch of annoying tea party folks everybody laughed at then you blinked and now they run all of podcast media while dems been trying to relive the obama years.

I'd argue pull a mitch and continue to just obstruct everything out of spite and pure stubbornness. Stop playing the high road and actually work to the needs of your voters (who would want you to play dirty to win by any means) and not your donors (who would rather you do these corny ass theatrics by jiggaboos cory and hakeem that literally amount to nothing)

that's an odd thing to point out considering the republicans clearly were able to break through to the people that don't follow politics quite well.

ask yourself why that was the case?

And yet again I’ll ask you, how is any of that (other than the last paragraph) related to stopping this specific bill in this specific moment? lol.

Yes we both agree Dems have been dumb af for a long time now that led to Trump getting power, and yes we both agree they need to do things differently long term in terms of candidates and policy positions to get power back. But how is any of that related to what they could have done this specific last month to stop this specific bill, which is what my original post was referring to (in response to the whole “Dems are doing nothing to stop this bill” posts).

As far as your final paragraph, by what Congressional mechanism are the Dems able to obstruct this bill? You seem to think that the GOP was able to magically stop budget bills, but you are forgetting that they were unable to stop the Inflation Reduction Act and yet that passed just a few years ago

They were able to break through to people about electing Trump during the Presidential Election (a time when the average person has the peak amount of attention devoted to politics)

They have not been able to break through to anyone about supporting this specific bill because as I said before, the average person doesn’t give af about a budget bill

How were they able to break through if Trump won again

Posting on social media is not enough man. I’m saying they need to be putting their bodies on the line and out in public every single day talking about this. Again this past week leading up to the bill being passed Democratic leadership was focused on being Islamophobic shills to a genocidal regime and making that darn Zohran condemn the term “globalize the intifada”.

The other problem is MSM and how all major news networks have basically capitulated to the right like Dems and weren’t concerned with spreading awareness until it was too late.

People will give a f*** about a bill that affects them if there’s actually a sound acute message being platformed across the ENTIRE party.

You keep putting (except the last paragraph) in parenthesis like i didnt f***ing answer your question lol

Also idk how bout the goddamn filibuster?

Even if a bill has a simple majority of 51 votes, the minority party can threaten or implement a filibuster to prevent a vote on the bill.

the same way Republicans overuse the f*** out of it where nothing gets done. WHY THE F*** DO THEY NOT DO THAT NOW?

Like I said, one party wants what they want more by any means. And one doesnt. Coulda filibustered and

So ask me. Where are the Democrats priorities lying when they are giving more animosity to their one good thing they’ve had in years versus idk…hindering the process of this bill?

You are again just being wrong. The main thing bout this bill (and why one demographic is happy about it) is because it boosts ICE. You can go to reddit trumpsupporters rn and see proof of that yourself.

You do know that reconciliation bills only need a simple majority? The filibuster is quite literally irrelevant in this situation.

maybe they couldve fillibustered long enough to elect 3 more people so they couldnt get a simple majority

    year long fillibuster

that being said there's probably more elderly democrats that could die in office in that time

The filibuster cannot be used on budget bills due to budget reconciliation

Yeah I’m sure Trump supporters love it. And I’m sure MSNBC Dems hate it.

I’m talking the average person who doesn’t give af about politics. They don’t care about it either way.
