Presidents designating a day for having their own military parade is cringe but this isn’t that much of a step up from the excessive patriotism that America already displays in everyday life. Pledge of Allegiance daily in most schools, national anthems at sporting events across all levels; military jets flying across events, police and military being apart of parades across cities already for special occasions, glorification of law enforcement and “muh troops” that’s already been ingrained in American culture.

The only difference is the optics and how establishment media are portraying this given the deepening crises and heightened awareness on multiple fronts at home in respect to Anti-Ice, Palestinian and Anti-Trump/Musk protests and the police state response and Trump’s own need for self-indulgence and ego soothing. It comes across as a desperate attempt to show face and intimidate for the admin among other things.
