Haven’t read all of the EOs but the one that could affect me, the return to office for fed employees, is such a non-starter lmao.
It’s like it’s written vaguely/poorly on purpose to have no real effect but to let him tell his supporters he did something. First of all most people don’t understand the difference between remote work and telework, I think most gov employees are telework and not remote. Telework means you still go into the office at least once a week or so. He makes 0 mention of telework in the order. Remote workers “duty station” is listed as their home address, so his call for them to return to their duty station…means to return to their home and work from there??
It also says exceptions may be done as needed, lol. I had a meeting with leadership and they were basically just like, “yeah well we’re a congressionally mandated agency so executive doesn’t really have authority over us.”
So I’m wondering just how effective any of his EOs are or if they’re mostly for theater.
it's such an empty EO and the way crowd cheered about it was truly perplexing. I don't get it
Well what i can tell you is those people support me and would kill for me, so a few years in timeout should be good.
Well he did elaborate with more than an "I dont know". Doubt he'll look into though because releasing them was more of a statement. But I hate when people dont spell out the whole thing especially when it comes to Trump.
F*** Trump btw, im just calling out the BS

Republicans are their own opposition. The party of obstrictionism will obstruct themselves like they did last time around
But also a strong left isn't necessary if you can sell your base on the lie that the left is strong

Owning the trump admin hard on day 1!!!

they wouldnt need a base to fight actual left wing resistance, all known left wing movements in america are infiltrated and compromised or occupied with mutual aid and idpol to begin with and nobody stops em from doing 'police raids' once again to begin with

We all bad b****es
i know this is another doom and gloom thread but this was a whole ass nothingburger to please his base anyway and it's going to get shut down. executive orders wouldn't even be enough in the first place, you would need an amendment to the constitution which is pretty much unprecedented in the modern era. It's like the Paris climate agreement stuff, we get pulled in we get pulled out we get pulled in we get pulled out so it's not really anything binding anyway, or pulling out of the WHO. it's just political theater. they said they were gonna start mass deportations day 1 and it's day 3 and they haven't started, he said he was gonna end the war in ukraine before he got in office and that hasn't happened either lol. reality is that the tech oligarchs and entrenched zionist agents who got trump elected don't want door to door mass deportations so it's not gonna happen.
just a potential word of comfort anyone who is actually afraid for the next four years: trump's presidential record thus far has mostly been a lot of bark and no bite. he's just a louder and more crass neoliberal lame duck who will continue to manage bourgeois "democracy" in decline. not saying something crazy won't happen, but the most likely thing is that the status quo will continue, and by that i mean continued unfettered support for israeli terrorism and the continued entrenchment of the ruling class, among other things. in other words business as usual. the only thing to genuinely fear for in my view is reproductive and LGBT rights, which is how it is under any conservative (ie either side of the american uniparty) government, and everything else is the same as ever
