What’s the scale from low to high and what does each point in the scale mean in terms of how much the audience was feeling a movie type s***

The actual lore is wildly inconsistent to the point where it probably doesn’t even exist. Only a handful of films have ever gotten above a 12 minute ovation and some of the films on that list are baffling (Elvis got 12, The Neon Demon got 16!!!!!!!!)

But it’s sorta been a general rule that an ovation that’s like 4-7 minutes is like a courtesy ovation.

But as Misfit said, the most acclaimed film of the festival so far only got 6 minutes.

9 minutes really isn’t bad.

Silence and the Irishman are two of his greatest movies ever and WOWS/Shutter Island are incredible. He’s got 4 monumental works for the 10s

90s is his 2nd best with Goodfellas, Casino, and the Age of Innocence being incredible films while Kundun, Bringing out the dead and Cape Fear are solid but no where near top tier

80s has King of Comedy, Last Temptation, and Raging Bull being top tier and after hours is really damn good also.

But ultimately he’s never had a decade with 4 incredible films like he did in the 10s

Aight I’m gonna try to speed run some of the Marty essentials I’m missing before this drops.

Here’s what I’ve seen:
Taxi Driver
Raging Bull
King of Comedy
The Departed
Shutter Island
Hugo
The Wolf Of Wall Street

And then I’ve got Goodfellas and Silence already noted that obv I gotta watch.

Anything else yall consider top tier Scorsese?
