Cudi always assumes everyone is out to get him and that he has no friends in the industry
Makes sense that he beefed with Drake
Him being extra and answering the question like this kinda explains why they won’t work w/ him…
Literally he said he did it because he wanted to be taken serious as a musician so yes he decided it was time to grow up and make the best s*** he could lmao how is that not geninue?
That part I believe, he’s always been great as a musician
But even in that thought, he’s so conscious of the public perception. Creating with public perception at the front of the mind is arguably not the most genuine way to create. To a lesser extent of “pandering” Tyler admitted he wasn’t 100% happy with flower boy and that he kind of just did it because he needed something people would like.
I love Tyler as an artist but I just feel like he has that tendency to pander still which makes me not really trust him fully. I look at him as a performance artist still
This stupid tweet aside, I cannot think of one good reason why Tyler would be upset with Cudi and I’m pretty tapped in to petty rapper beef because of KTTMZ
If this thread dropped last year KTT would’ve made it a Tyler hate thread but Cudi is the new punching bag

hating both >
yea right? it seems like he's lost all his confidence and actually does think the general public is against him (they very well maybe) since the ye s*** and the bottle incident
Yeah it’s terrible to see. We know who to blame, Ye threw this guy into a spiral just to promote a 200 dollar demo album

Cudi did say he asked to work with him to no avail though. I don’t think the implication is that Tyler is upset with cudi but just that he doesn’t really wanna work with him that much
I remember when Weeknd and Cudi sent each other gifs on Twitter like saying “It’s time” @BGFX

Same energy
It's not lol

yeah i wonder what happened with that

Cudi remixed one of The Weeknd’s songs and it was played on The Weeknd’s radio show but it never came out officially
It's not lol
Cudi isn’t insane, he just has really low self esteem. Very different energy from Ye

The way he phrased it just made it sound like a ridiculous notion, wish he’d just said “reached out and it didn’t work out, maybe someday” and left it at that
I guess it’s mostly that Igor was assumed to be about a girl who knew Tyler’s boyfriend from flower Boy who tyler would’ve met young
And then I forget if the new girl is even the same girl but for CMWYGL there was some of the same questions raised
There’s just been a slight stench on both of those records where it’s like, the albums focus on relationships and people look into the relationships and are like wait what’s going on here
Yeah, idk about Tyler’s personal life, and all that stuff, like I can’t say one way or the other if the relationships that inspired the music are weird or not, although I trust Tyler so I assume they’re not, but as far as the music itself goes, the only odd song of his in that regard has always been F***ING YOUNG for me, and even on that song he’s never gonna act on his feelings he’s just lamenting he feels that way (still kinda weird, but not as bad).
Overall I can see why T might be getting the 🤨 from some people, but I believe the music itself is largely untainted.
Except WILTSHIRE. I hate that song for being so long and going nowhere, and if it’s about a girl he met when she was underage, that makes it even worse
Tyler x Cudi's a weird pairing to begin with.
Especially on paper.
I personally wouldn't want to see it but, that's just me.
This is such a bad look for Cudi considering how outspoken Tyler has been in the past about wanting to produce for other artists
& I'mma be honest, I never understood the appeal of Cudi in the first place.
"MoTM" is a decent record, but aside from that what has he done in his solo career?
I mean, his vulnerability & messaging/subject matter in his music reaches out to a lot of people I guess.....
I'll always remember him for his work with Kanye & not his own.
