Tyler wears his influences on his sleeve, but I don’t think using samples is really a gotcha.

I'm not hating, IGOR one of my most listened to albums of all time. But to herald Tyler's music as completely original and not copying what came before

Nothing wrong with using samples, but he not really changing much in the examples I posted A Boy is a Gun probably the one where he changed the most

Yeah, I was actually a little shocked at how little was changed on ARE WE STILL FRIENDS, but I’d argue that he’s still being fair with it.
Like, he completely changed the context, and the small adjustments he made did alter the tone and mood of the song I feel.
That being said I’m a very “pro remix” person AND a Tyler stan, so maybe I’m being biased.

No, I'm not no f***ing Kid Cudi, all my f***ing fans love me“ on a song before. i didn’t take it to mean he hates kid cudi, but that he’s not a fan of his music and feels like he’s in a different lane. also idk how many of y’all remember his hypebeast posts when 808s came out. he really hated that album and it’s heavily cudi influenced. i think that sound just isn’t for him and honestly i don’t think they would have meshed too well musically unless it’s cudi doing vocals on a tyler album
