Apr 21, 2024·1 replyOHMNII agree here which is why I said all these communities are guest that feel comfortable being let in then suddenly take land , businesses, stock and own our rights in so many ways. A Lucian Grainge or Lyor Cohen is already annoying but the fact that you known they don't give back to the same black community they make countless dollars from is the truly depressing part. They take our money from streams and keep that money the f*** away from us and we just keep allowing it.
S***s a sad cycle. Ye has spoken on it some calmy in interviews as has Lupe but I want a verse about that not just rant or interview I want the number 1 song in America to be calling out how f***ed the black community is getting. TPAB was a half step to the full message.
So when Kendrick like "I am a israelite don't call me black no more" I am like make a song about that if you truly feel it or are you afraid to scare your white base
My nigga that very last part is my problem with Kendrick, I always say he touches on deeper issues at a surface level and it makes me mad he could be. I'm with Ye and Lupe on that, and in larger as a whole when it comes to infinite growth and the BlackRocks, the Vanguards, the Citadel's, etc.
I don't have that same requirement from Drake because he not from here and he's not really from any of the most affected communities, so I appreciate his writing ability. He's amazing at structure and wording, I just wish him and Ye would've been able to put their differences to the side because the music would've been amazing.
But I'm with you, I'm tryna hear an Israelite album because our stories/mythologies belong and have a spot in mainstream space
