Kendrick has to do even more in this beef to sway the public’s perception of how this is all going, which I don’t believe he can do. He’s going up against someone that has been consistently making hit songs for the better part of almost two decades, whether they were diss tracks or not.

Just look at the way Drake and Kendrick rose to fame. Drake’s career is basically synonymous with memes/memeing. Kendrick’s isn’t. He can’t troll the same way Drake can, because he subconsciously knows people hold him to a higher standard, which makes the “industry puppet” line more valid. Drake is battle tested. Kendrick isn’t. This is why that “it’s time for him to show that he’s a problem line” in Like That didn’t make sense to me.

Drake has shown several times that he can perform well in rap beefs. What rap beefs has Kendrick been in thus far (excluding this one)?

In the age of social media, being able to control the public narrative of how a beef is going, in regards to music is very critical. It’ll make Kendrick look ten times worse if the response isn’t good, if he takes too long to respond, or he flat out doesn’t respond (highly unlikely).

Either way, I think Kendrick is ultimately going to lose. GGs
