Cole is just a better version of Joyner Lucas.Nigga so bland and safe. No creativity or experimentation. Just above average rapping over boring 4 bar loops.
TPAB better than both of them niggas careers combined. Atleast Drake tries different styles unlike Cole.

Glorpoutpersonally I would put it like kendrick>Drake>>Cole. Drake is really really up there and if I grew up listening to him as much as kendrick I would probably switch them. There are a lot of drake albums I like way more than some Kendrick ones. Drake is kinda like an opiate its perfect for any time or mood lol Kendrick is like mushrooms or something u gotta be in the mood. Coles best songs are better than most of drakes and Kendrick’s songs, but his albums are inconsistent for me and he has a couple albums I flat out do not like at all.
I like a lot of Drake songs. Got a playlist with 60+ songs but that's cause he drops so many projects. The last Drake album I liked all the way through is "NWTS" and half of "If Your Reading This It's Too Late." Every project after I get 5 or 6 songs that I like.
I want Drake to sit down and focus on making the great album that I know he's capable of making but he's to preoccupied with the charts instead of the arts.
Nigga was influenced by Little Brother, Lupe, Jay, etc in his early days now he just wants to be a popstar. Not saying that I want him to be a backpacker rapper I just want more care in the craft instead of trying to be the biggest rapper in the world.
And these last two J.Cole project's just been full of freestyles instead of dropping great songs. We know you can rap, you don't have to prove yourself. Drop great SONGS. Battle rappers can rap really well too but no one cares cause them niggas can't make good songs and thats the direction Cole is headed now.

Not to my ears. I love the vast majority of the songs in his albums post views. Views was my favourite album of his. I dont think its as simple as he wants to be a pop star. He just has a diverse catalogue that doesnt appeal to everybody, but has something for eveyrbody

How so, cole really peaked with FHD, meanwhile Travis and Tyler have grown into their own. you could listen to a song and say this is Tyler or Travis-esque, you can’t say the same for cole.
