This also imo means that he simulteanously thought that all this is going to weaken the whole rap industry because of the animosity but only one would emerge stronger from all of this, and that would be his close friend Future

Metro started a conspiracy to dethrone Drake and put Future on top of the industry ( When two fight a third one wins )

That's why even major parts of the album were more Drakeish in sound and more approachable to the wider audience that includes elements of pop and R&B also
