Okay, KTT2 folks, real talk: I see a lot of chatter about canceling certain artists on this thread, but does anyone remember Kendrick Lamar nearly pulling his WHOLE catalog from Spotify back in 2018? Why? Because he was fighting for R. Kelly's right to stay on the platform.

The #MuteRKelly movement was picking up steam, and Spotify was taking a stand. And what does Kendrick do? Threatens to take his music down in solidarity. Seems like some of y'all conveniently forgot that part.

Let's not be hypocrites here. Accountability works both ways, right?

Art shouldn't be censored ever idc who it comes from. Let the people decide who they want to listen to

Didn't forget s***, that s*** is wack but the s*** nigga said about a minor is objectively worse and you just doing whatboutism over a perceived attack on a fanbase,

I can still pull out more examples of niggas being unhinged on here:

Niggas joking over Pusha's parents dying like they involved in the beef
    Niggas calling Kendrick's wife a t*anny
Niggas callin Rihanna an overweight w**** just cuz her and Drake ain't on good terms
the crashouts in the Honestly Nevermind sales thread

They always try to both sides this s***. No accountability over there.

I feel like Kendrick is going to use this angle in his diss. It’s not gonna be a Pusha T type response, revealing some scathing personal info. It’s more than likely going to be a dissection of his character and how he could be perceived as a culture vulture. How he uses guys like Future, Ross and 21 Savage, even Sexy Redd more recently to help create this persona. And I like Drake as an artist, he makes good music but it’s kinda true, he’s a bit of a Parody of the genre at times.

Drake does not make the same efforts to move the real-life culture that Kendrick does, but he thrives off creating this generic superficial image of it while claiming to be a part of it. His earlier work seemed more genuine but he was known as the sensitive rapper, he was perceived as soft, but he’s tried his hardest to shed that image and now his subject matter leans more towards mob ties and getting p****, but it doesn’t get much deeper than that and it doesn’t necessarily have to, but it’s not really genuine, It’s not what he actually comes from. It’s very superficial but that’s why he sells so well, as well as structuring his songs in a way that’s digestible to a large audience, he knows how to make a hit.

I always thought buried alive on take care was really interesting song because it always seemed like Kendrick was uncomfortable around him. Kendrick might do something very left field but that could backfire if it doesn’t resonate with the majority.

Have to agree with some of this but I do think he had genuine love for some of these guys. As fun as it is to see the giants go at it it does suck to know that a lot of these guys were intertwined in their come up and had some amazing moments together. Club Paradise Tour alone had Drake, Cole, Rocky, Kendrick, Meek and others all a part of it. Just don’t get that type of experience anymore

  • People don’t understand that white capitalist folks at Spotify who love to cancel s*** are also WHITE

And when they deem your blackness as also threatening you are setting the precedent that they can cancel you as well.

It’s not hard to see Tops position.

you can take someone else's music completely off streaming platforms, it definitely confirms streaming the worst form of music. And as an artist, it's a scary reality to live in where a platform decides whether or not your music can be on their platform and legit violates free speech.

And I HATE R. Kelly and haven't actively listened to him for years.

One of the biggest artists is definitely gonna be riding for the art. So I get why he did that.
