idk who was saying chasing commercial success makes you anti art but i don’t agree with that at all, that’s not inherently true at least. i don’t blame em, times is hard out here, but i wouldn't use that as an excuse for drake’s slip in quality (which i get you might disagree with). drake has the leverage to make whatever the hell he wants outside of genuinely challenging outsider music like harsh wall noise or something and it will sell well and actually impact culture. to me he used to shift the culture but now i think he goes along with it and plays his part more than anything else. this convo has nothing inherently to do with capitalism in my opinion, more just me not being the biggest fan of post 2016-2018 drake (i liked a lot of dark lane demo tapes tho)
