Also, just so I'm clear. Drake, Cole and Kendrick are solidified already. They don't have anything to prove to anyone at this stage of their careers. I just respect prolific artists because I know it isn't easy.

Nas' run of 6 albums from 2018-2023 wasn't done because he had anything to prove to anyone. He just got back the drive to get back to rapping again and he ended up giving fans 6 solid albums in his late 40s. That's admirable.

Now, if Kendrick doesn't have that drive or zeal anymore, that's more than fine. Let's just stop acting like the artists who manage to remain consistent with their music releases are somehow inferior or playing the game wrong.

Kendrick should drop a 32 over a Tisakorean beat making fun of J Cole in an alien voice.

That will be enough of a holdover until we get the next IG Pack

    YES.

I don’t think these are mutually exclusive.

People can rightfully criticize a self proclaimed king of rap for not being able to output a high level of content on a regular basis and also be sad when an artist dies an untimely death

Actually, it’s kinda weird you’d think otherwise

Every artist drops when they want and when they're ready, regardless of what fans say. It's cool if Kendrick wants to take 5 years off to drop a new album at this stage of his career but what I don't like is when people spin that to make it seem like his peers who are more consistent are dropping trash or are inferior because they've managed to keep up pace while he hasn't.

This is a wild post because it begins very reasonably and balanced to give off the pretence of "objectively." Then by the end the mask comes off and the d***riding agenda becomes clear
