    I wish a motherfuckin' would
Brown, I had to put my foot down
So I could pop in the clutch
Your hate palpable, your jaw full of dust
You gon' keep talkin' or are we lockin' it up?
And I'm the type of nigga it ain't never been an honor to judge
You a mouse that the falcon picked up
So disrespect you gettin' checked like the top of the month
I was a liar as a kid so now I'm honest as f***
And I never passed my mama no blunt, it kept my head straight
Less than deadweight, never been a problem to dump
Look, I just broke up with my b**** cause we ain't argue enough
I keep it dirty as the spliffs my uncle Alchemist puff
I strike a birdie on 'em, while I hit your mouth with the club

Earl was talkin crazy on Really Doe

Mach Hommy brought the demon out on 4N, Earl was talking reckless

    Who all in?
    Who got the cards flipped?
    Who on s***?
    Who get the target split?
Who on your marksman's bad side?
Going at landmines, don't count steps
The old chest said "it's about time"
Slow breath, cold flesh made her mouth cry
We know death, alright let's go left
Hand signs, still with the bands like lead singers
    Niggas remember them camp fires
    I dip when they capsize
And swift hit the roads kickin' cans like chivalry dead
You really dead, but we still ahead
Couple clips left, couple lips cleft

This is very good writing without the nauseating punchline every other line.

Probably my favorite part of lyricism.

I mean we can copy and paste the weakest bars respectfully of every rapper (i dont think you wanna do that defending drake)

tell me what does drake have better than a December 24?

Bang like two mallets, too callous for your b**** taste
'Member when they had my grandmammy on a drip drink
How much of that gin straight? Could have filled a fish tank
My doggy hit my cell, say he got me off the strength
Ask him, "That's just how it is?" say
"You die and then you live, huh?"
Your heart and then your limbs break
Just catch me when I slip, bro

SRS/and Earl's new style in general bro actually simplified his lyrical miracle earlier flow to be more personal and introspective and less edge lordy like he was in the EARL and Doris days.

there's more introspection and self-awareness in SRS than in any drake album post NWTS if we really wanna take it there (and I can take it further)

Earl's rapping after Doris is just nothing spectacular to me

If I wanted to hear monotone raps I'd listen to MF DOOM

This discussion got me wondering how people perceive underground rap now lol

Like do people just see it as a bunch of fake MF DOOM s***? Do they think underground rap is just a bunch of punchlines over dust beats? Lol

This is very good writing without the nauseating punchline every other line.

Probably my favorite part of lyricism.

Earl's new style is refreshing because he pretty much eliminated his earlier MF DOOM influenced punchline raps and instead just said "fuck it, lemme just talk to these niggas"

that verse on Easter Sunday '97 some of the most positive and heartwarming s*** I've ever heard from the nigga that one time said "you know it's not rape if you like it b****"

Pray Allah hold me, I keep my arms wide open
    It's never ever all over
F*** the cost, pay it all forward, you takin' off
Taste exhaust from a car motor, taper in the cloth
My day get started, thanks, praises to my God
Then get lost, thoughts savorin', don't take it as a loss

I LOVE WHEN NIGGAS GROW TF UP BRO.

I do, his delivery and beat selection just bores me. He's a very boring artist. Making The Band was fire because he was over some new production and keeping it interesting

Also why are yall so passive aggressive or an opinion lmao

That’s cool. Earls music ain’t for everybody but I feel like your description of Earls music is somewhat inaccurate is all.

I’d argue he’s not even doing the DOOM thing like he was in his teens at this point

    Let's get into it.

Earl had a better "oh s*** I'm about to have a baby I gotta be a father" song better than Drake tbh lmao

She said I got a son on the way
Made my bed so that's where I'ma lay
My worried bones, my heavy head I carry home every day
My mama sayin' that I'll never be alone
Even though she gotta know that I know she dismayed
    With the choices I made
