I forgot how terrible Pitchfork's review of Euphoria was. Just look at some of these quotes:
"If he had bowed out like J. Cole (smart man) after Drake’s “Taylor Made Freestyle” troll job, I would have understood."
"it’s six minutes of rambling over two of the worst beat switch-ups you will ever hear"
How tf is this guy going to complain about the gay jokes but then add Ether to the echelon of classic diss tracks one sentence later? They really got no better reviewers over there at Pitchfork?

I don’t think he will because it’s not a smart financial decision considering UK music isn’t that poppin over here especially comparing his OG style.
And I doubt he’ll ever do a Caribbean album. Him traveling isn’t distancing himself from Black American culture. He’s rich he can afford a flight.

NY/brooklyn has definitely adopted the carribbean influence. Go to Queens it's literally a Jamaica, Queens. Flatbush, canarsie, crown heights that's all carribbean.
It's just eight times more people in NY than in Ottowa so their influence in TO is much greater

Every artist tries to break into the North American market. They were able to do that via Drake. UK rappers, Canadian artists, and yes many African artists were bubbling but Drake shining that light took it to the next level.
I get it. The goal of this thread is to diminish anything Drake ever did, but it’s documented in real time especially those who thanked him for the spotlight.
You said he elevated the black music diaspora. What you’re describing sounds like him jumping on select hot artists until their flame dies down.

Those are Caribbean immigrants and people of Caribbean descent. Ya regular Black American or Rican or Dominican, Italian, Caucasian, Jewish person…whatever from Brooklyn isn’t walkin around sounding like
Maybe if they were raised by a Caribbean family but that’s pretty rare. Sure they might indulge in the culture as far as food or fetes but if it’s any culture the Non black prior of Brooklyn would gravitate towards first is “urban” NY culture.

thats a fair take. all my experiences were normal to me, i’ve always wanted to hang with the adults rather than the other kids, even if it meant to just existing in my own space while under their supervision. they made sure i stayed a kid, and i made sure not tell everything to the real adults (their elders)
