Also the way he reinvented the style and world for each. LA was beat music, Cosmogramma mixed that with gigantic space orchestra stuff, UTQC stripped it down and went small with more minimal warm sounds. you’re dead was a crazy fast jazz epic.
And then flamagra was just kinda a solid collection of songs, some undercooked ones and some really good ones
didnt flow like a flylo cohesive album and didn’t really have a big sound changeAnd then the long gap in releases afterward

Like I listen to him, Nujabes, Madlib, Daft Punk and others when I’m trying to get in a good mood cuz there’s just something elevating and ethereal about their music.
You’re Dead came out during one of the worst years of my life and actually uplifted me a lot.
Thats why Flamagra even though I like it, is one of his weakest.
I will say though I went on vacation the year Flamagra dropped and the album does sound great in a beach setting
