I think somewhat the opposite. Kendrick's albums tackle deeper topics very surface level, as while Cole does surface level topics deeper than most. Songs like Auntie Diaries or Father Time are very surface level to me because they're thoughts that I had at 8 and they don't challenge me sonically

I said the topics to those songs were deeper in meaning but only touched on the surface of those topics, but those topics are not taboo or not talked about in the community. The music maybe, but there's things that Kendrick has knowledge of that he could be rapping about. Which he might get to later, but hasn't gone in depth about while not being too intricate

He went as deep as he could in that album, tpab was like that trip you have where everything is all over the place but you're able to make sense of it all regardless. I think even beyond enjoyment or taste, the depth of the lp is Undeniable, when he's father calls him a b**** in front of his mom and makes a choice to listen to his father, that's such a moment you'd never realize how wrong it was when you were young but yeah I respect your views my man, he may never go this deep again tbh
