The shift pretty much started at Versace. That’s when he started to really move into this Drake we see now. I think the success of that and Tony Montana and Sh!t made him realize “oh s***, this is the finesse”

S80 had massive internet hype then when he signed to Interscope they were doing mad promo for the GKMC rollout, he was doing like a year long promo which started with The Recipe if u was there u remember, he was also doing so many features, interviews, freestyles, shows etc

The full coronation was IYRTITL, good album but you could feel the tonal shift. Signing to YMCMB and not somewhere like GOOD or Roc Nation, where they would've pushed him way more into being Pop then street, helped alot too

Yep and then made the full transition in 2016 with the new generation south hood dudes and UK drill. Can’t forget having to find new ways to keep all black people on all sides still f***ing with him 🤔 enter Wizkid, Popcaan and Drake’s afrobeat run alongside the gangsta tone to really set the image in stone and make people forget the corny dude we all used to roast

Temp fade Drake is starting to become one of my most hated eras in rap lol, fashion sound wise. Cause people really sucked off his generic takes on afrobeats, Pop and of course, riding the new Trap wave. It's one of the lamest runs in rap history because of Drakes heavy pandering, and his d*** riding fanbase.

The man never attempted to be an artist during that era, solely an entertainer

The funniest thing is Drake most definitely thinks exactly like they do:

The video of school kids asking who invited him to a party is exactly the kind of loser he is.

Yeezus tour was more important to Kendrick and his career than that Drake tour. He gave us TPAB and UU from the recordings following that tour and this quote during tour
