As a huge Drake stan Travis was obviously on an upwards trajectory regardless
Cole has done more for Kendrick than Drake - and its part of why Cole and Kendrick are/were legit friends.
Cole is literally one of the people that helped the Dre connect before Drake even had consciousness about a Kendrick
And Kendrick was already connected to Dre and halfway through with GKMC with Interscope plus he was already going viral with freestyles and Detox + ADHD. All beforehand. And already had a radio song with She Needs Me from OD.
Same with ASAP who produced one of the biggest Mixtapes and homegrown movements ever. Just like Cole to Kendrick, its Spaceghostpurrp to Rocky.
The only thing that the tour and an interlude is introduce him to Drakes audience.
And i think a lot of hindsight gets added - Drake was still very much apart of the field and a "regular" artist at the time. This is TC - not NWTS/IYRTITL that makes Drake who he is today.
Drake with TML & TC was not above his gen at the time. They are literal peers.
