Damn…

Even though people are saying this won’t damage Drake’s career, I don’t think he can gain from this point forward. Only his die hards will continue to regularly spin his music and take whatever he does next seriously.

The casuals will probably tune in on release but won’t have any reason to go back beyond release date, but Drake is probably never going to gain anything from a new audience, or anyone clued in on HipHop in general.

Drake can’t help but do stupid corny things, it is just his actual nature, he can’t help himself, and as such even his die hards will get tired of defending him and slowly tune out as well. This is basically Kanye after Slavery was a choice, the culture let him go after that but the die hards and some casuals still had to go through a further process.

And like I said his die hards will still give him a #1 here and there but from this point out it will be largerly ignored by most people, he no longer has a grip on the genre.

Yeah DJ’s still spin gold digger, can’t tell me nothing and niggas in Paris, doesn’t mean Kanye is a king pin in HipHop anymore. He’s just ordinary Kanye who might drop now and then and cause a spike in interaction, but mostly people are indifferent to his activities, and it fizzled out quick. You Can say the same about EM.

I’m not saying he has been R Kelly’d and blackballed from everything, he’s just no longer the face of the genre or HipHop culture. His numbers will start looking a lot more ordinary, shall we say.

Drake was T swift level, he will be down to Beyonce level now.

Big and legendary enough to still do great numbers, but after release week, most people have forgotten she’s dropped besides the die hards.

The big singles will be in every dj set and playlist etc, but that word of mouth recommendation and ig story posting won’t hit the same.
