Those are good numbers tbh I also said before 350 sounds reasonable. Hopefully he has physicals this time around too. Kendrick fans notoriously love vinyls. He needs to beat the We Don’t Trust You numbers comfortably if he wants to escape ridicule though

I think closer to FATD or a little below is a more realistic outcome, assuming he’s able to keep the momentum and he releases this year

The problem with Kendrick Lamar claiming he’s the goat is that his discography tells a different story, and it’ll just get worse with time from an artist perspective. Best at rapping is one thing and still debatable, but the best artist? How? It’s more of a cult of personality thing, I think. Drake and Kanye both have better discographies. Both are more versatile artists. The Game can out-rap Kendrick; if you think Rigamortis is good, Game has several songs where he’s rapping like that.

MMTBS was initially projected to do 350k after its first day, it was one of the few albums ever to have over 100 million streams first day on spotify. a therapy album just didn’t go over well with the general audience, he drops something with more mainstream appeal and im confident he’ll do close to 400k

It wasn’t met with the reception NLU got because it didn’t feel like it won the beef

He’s just gotta be active on that release week and be out there, do a tiny desk concert, interview, magazine cover, new video etc. if he wants the next album to be a success he needs to do everything opposite from what he did when Morale came out which lost momentum like a few days after it came out lol.
I know the narrative usually is that ‘he doesn’t care about numbers, why should he?’ but I think this time around he actually should, it’s your first full album with your own label, would be good to set a solid standard there
