I think the most likely scenario/analysis

Everything between all parties was good in early 2022.

Mid to late 2022 Metro has a huge issue with Drake.

Drake becomes very close with 21 and they do Her Loss and become a duo essentially. Future also becomes very cool with Metro.

There’s now tension because Drake treating 21 like his ATL brother and Future also hanging out with a Drake opp who keeps tryna bait Drake.

In 2023 more stuff behind the scenes goes down which just makes them get even more tension. Drake touring with 21 now.

Future & Metro bonded with whatever problem they have with how Drake moving towards them

Drake becomes really close with Cole, they collab, now going on tour, etc.

Future/Metro doing the new album, approach Kendrick, eventually they catching up and having chats and Kendrick becomes privy that Drake & Future fell out. Future prob also gives his thoughts on him buddying up with Cole and perhaps knows Drake had hostility towards Kendrick behind closed doors in past years and informs Kendrick.

Now Kendrick at this point riled up at Drake and ends up being a token in the Drake vs. Future/Metro war.

Kendrick verse is equivelant to Back to Back. Drake never said a name and never needed to. But it is direct enough it can’t have a proportional response.
