I mean he quite literally did put Kendrick Lamar on
He helped 21 get his clout up
He helped future cross over, but Drake got street cred so it’s an equal trade
But its mutual in every aspect , he was around 21 for street cred , he needed 21 to stay relevant over the last few years , Knife talk was most succesful off CLB , Jimmy Cooks was most successful off HNVM , so he did a tape with him which is his best recieved project recently.
If KDot wanted to drop again, he could’ve after heart part 6
He’s content
I don't understand how Twitter just lets "not famous" people get verified s*** is stupid
Was re-reading the W interview he did a couple years ago:
In his music, there have always been secrets just out of reach, always a hotheaded shadow self threatening to break out and destroy everything at any moment. This is the version of Lamar that Dave Free, his creative collaborator and a close friend since high school, knows well. “Those moments when we were getting pressed, or me seeing that side of Kendrick which people don’t know,” says Free. “I done seen that side of him where just—he’d be a poet in one moment, but then he’d be protecting himself or his family. There was a time period when we was taking chances to make music. We were driving in neighborhoods late, really risking our lives. All type of s*** we done been in, all over the pursuit of something bigger than us.”
I think Euphoria might be my least fave Kendrick track from the whole thing, and it's amazing
Kendrick said “I can go further, I promise” on Not Like Us
How worse could it have been if the beef continued?
Does Kendrick have more info he hasn’t put on a song yet?
Feel like he was gonna get into the dark s*** of the lifestyle Drake tryna live and the realities of it
If KDot wanted to drop again, he could’ve after heart part 6
He’s content
heart part 6 was a self inflicted wound.
I do think if drake goes at it again, he will respond
I think people mean his personality , he acts like he created Kendrick , 21 , Kodak , Future , acts like he's the reason afrobeats and drill is popular
Im not a Drake Stan before you rebuttal with that but in interviews Drake has always stated that he doesn’t take credit for that type of stuff
In the longform interview he even said he doesn’t even take credit for making Toronto popping
All good, Chubbs'll look around/
Find one that seem my type/
That my DOG and he know what I like/
He done found me plenty in my life
But its mutual in every aspect , he was around 21 for street cred , he needed 21 to stay relevant over the last few years , Knife talk was most succesful off CLB , Jimmy Cooks was most successful off HNVM , so he did a tape with him which is his best recieved project recently.
No doubt
He def wasn’t working with 21 for charity. Helped keep him relevant, especially with the younger audience
