Vince thought this beef was superficial destruction that would ultimately just enrich the white executive class at the expense of black men. That was his angle to Joe Budden.

Budden actually called Larry Jackson at one point, and Larry Jackson tried to allude to the same thing. He said "oh, the C&D was a joke, and the ivory tower is very happy to make money on this" etc. He was trying to piggy back on Vince's argument against it.

What actually has happened is that Larry Jackson and Drake and gamma have basically did an investor coup at Universal. The two guys who run gamma are formerly Interscope. They bought Dr Dre's catalog secondhand, have a share in Snoop's Death Row catalog, they signed Ross, Usher, etc. They have the favor of Universal between a billion of gamma money and the 400 million Drake deal.

Vince said hey let's focus on publishing etc. This is about publishing. Drake has quietly bought in above people and basically attempted to replace some of them with young underlings like Sexyy Red or 4batz or whoever while collecting checks from Ross etc. "drop a 50 bag" "drop and give me 50" publishing splits

At the same time Drake has also done some NASTY personal s*** to people that involves women. He has some nasty personal habits that are being leveraged to not only hurt him but destroy him as a vital piece of label infrastructure. And ofc Vince is onboard with that.

Drake is parading everyone's legacy around, calling them slaves, and he's a disgusting person with a lot of baggage. Plenty of enemies.
