IonHodxThat’s not what I’m saying. If you are not from a particular culture, you have no business telling people from that culture, what is the “realest” form of their music and what isn’t. The stans on here do this all the time dismissing any music that isn’t on the charts or somewhat left-field as “white” music, and any music that is poppy or mainstream as “black” music and what the “streets are listening to”.
If you’re from the EU or not even in the U.S, why do you feel comfortable saying this sort of stuff? It’s just weird.
Who was doing that, though? Vlad (an American Ukrainian) tweeted something inconsequential about the flow, or the beat or whatever the f*** it was not being on point. It was a ridiculously innocuous comment and completely reasonable. Somebody responding saying "you CANNOT speak on this, stay out" when the topic of discussion is music released by mainstream multimillionaires is so stupid it shouldn't need pointing out.

Do you extend that line of reasoning to everything? Should NYT not report on what happens in Gaza? Or in Ukraine? Or Brazil? It's a really weird strand of borderline xenophobia. We live in a globalised world in which the human experience and human expression (especially things like music and the arts) transcends geographical borders. If you have an issue with that, stay out of music and art.
