To be honest I always thought he could’ve toned down the attempts at internal rhyming on How Much a Dollar cost in favor of making the story more immediate and easy to follow in the way Big and Nas stories are. I would describe the first verse as a little clumsy and over technical

Which is kind of a trap he falls into with some degree of frequency. Lowkey he lacks an ability of having bars that immediately resonate compared to a lot of greats. This why his fans have to post things about “howto listen to the album properly”

I still love Kendrick I’m not tryna say this s*** to discredit him but I’m being objective as someone who’s listened to a lot of rappers

If it’s easy, then everyone would be able to do it a high level. Whether they slick talking or talking with a controversial purpose. I think his messages are clear as day and sometimes creative, sometimes simple.

Nothing extraordinary though. Pulitzer prize for that album is crazy.
