ISIS wasn’t created in a vacuum. It split families and towns and workplaces and governments. Same with the Taliban in my home country

These people all had the same experience from years of violence and hardship and foreign interference and at the end of the day some turned to perverting Islam for a Revanchist conquest and others went to fight for democratic or moderate militias. Not only for their political realities but out of a sense of duty to protecting an honest and humanist attachment to their faith

In the same sense, the Jewish people of the world have the choice of throwing their lot in with Israel, or understanding that it is a perversion of their faith that must be removed from the world stage

To say ISIS had nothing to do with Islam is the same thing as saying Israel has nothing to do with Judaism. It’s just wrong. Not a lie, or an excuse, or whatever. Just a factually incorrect statement.

And ignoring it prevents solving this very real problem

No. I’m saying that ISIS was one consequence of a wide range of situations and history that all Muslim/Arabs experience, and tackling the issue of ISIS means tackling the detrimental experiences of Muslims and Arabs, universally

Same for the Jewish (Ashkenazi Jewish especially) experience and Zionism
