How, political activism aside, Tupac and Drake are essentially the same nigga.

Educated performing arts kids, raised by single moms, that become rap superstars protected and extorted by street niggas.

Idk about that, Tupac might've had that upbringing but he would actually pull the trigger

He even tried to fight off his robbers at Quads studios

Dear Mama vs Look What You've Done?

Exactly. You can find A LOT of thematic through lines.

Especially with women and their treatment of their peers.

It used to be love with a lot of niggas and Pac in the industry, but he used his protection to really turn up on niggas lol

No I’m saying Pac was raised by a crack fiend mom who had no money and got sent to the Bay Area where he lived in the hood

Drake always grew up having money

Again, not that it matters to me but they came from a different background don’t rewrite history bruh

    Shhhhhhhhhhh

    Kenfolk Cope Cycle 2024:

    1) "LOL Drake ain't gonna drop he's scared af"
    2) "Drake so scared he couldn't even release a song on DSPs"
    3) "Drakes so scared, he literally dropped 2 songs and had to take one of them down cuz Kendrick called Tom Whalley in hiding"
    4) "LOL like that is up on the charts, this means Kenny won right guys? He doesn't have to drop a song right guys? He's cookin him off these slick beats and minimal ass bars right guys?... RIGHT GUYS?!"
    5) "Ofc Kenny didn't drop. Drakes so scared cuz Kenny's been MIA while drakes been a loser actually making diss tracks with bars. Lol Kenny's silence is so powerful. He's really winning this beef dropping no songs and running away from drake... right guys?"

Bruh my heart hurt when I posted my Roots thread yesterday and barely anybody shows up

Need to migrate to the coli maybe

Yeah I mean I wouldn't expect The Roots to be as revered on here. Coli is right down the hall to the left

But you got that kenfolk cape on deucey

Drake the person sucks and annoys me so I root against him. He made some of my favorite music tho

Drake hasn't "reportedly" been tested that way.

But there's alot of stories about niggas getting hands and feet put on them in his history.

a part of that disillusionment is the narrative that dot is a Sade/Frank Ocean/Prince/Dangelo level artist who doesnt compromise his art ever

from Swimming Pools to Humble to Black Panther, chart and mainstream appeal has always been his focus along with being creative and experimenting too

Drake referencing the Maroon 5/taylor swift thing was needed, dot being an amazing lyricist doesnt mean he doesnt do industry tactics all the time, this is the 3rd rollout in a row he is dissing Drake for promo ("Tables turn bridges burn, jump sides on me" NWTS reference, "Smoking on whats his name", "For all your dogs getting buried") 3 albums, 3 sub disses lmfao

just my perspective dont get mad kenfolk

I need a place to discuss my soulful hiphop like Common, Roots, etc etc

    Yeah that's fair.
It rings hollow when coming from someone like Drake though, who did an ad singing along to that same "Bad Blood" song.

An Apple commercial where him and Taylor were the first to be sponsored artists is vastly different than year two Drake doing a song with Taylor.

    It’s nuances there

Again, thats why I say subjective.

Drake grew up with a poor mom who had a chronic illness. He was his family's breadwinner.

He clearly fell in with a lot of tough dudes trying to be something he idolized. We dont know what he developed through.

His father was absent and involved with criminals in Memphis, etc.

    Its pretty synonymous.

The only similarities pac and drake got is making a heel turn to be gangster in their mid 20s.

    Otherwise they different as hell.
