    Furthermore

A lot came from diet and actually paying attention to what I'm eating and just listening to people's stories led me to a lot of different things that I never would've thought to experience. Hell, I didn't see a mango until I was 19 lol

Yoga was really good and I've tried to find time to read the copy of the Bhagavad Gita, but learning of chakras, the kundalini spirit and ideas of reincarnation. Then learning about the connectivity in all religions and mythologies depending on geological location, but for the most part there's a myriad of similarities.

Politics a little trickier for me because I come into that with knowledge of Cointelpro and watching the systems they used to hold Black people back in America, but Ye introducing me to Dr. Claud Anderson confirmed some of my beliefs about Black people in America, in terms of historical importance. Great author vast set of books

Even learning from the hoteps like Brotha Panic, Bobby Hemmitt, Dr. Umar, Bro. C Freeman El, Clarence Williams, Yahki Awakened, Pastor Kofi at SOC, Dr. Ray Hagin, Dr. Bobby Price, etc. I thought that hotep s*** was bs until I reevaluated what I believed to be Black literature and history

Because I was never an Yuval Noah Harari/Freud type guy, running into African literature definitely opened my perspective a lot on what's going on. Relating my interactions to nature to the interactions that of my friends. That's why I feel Cole, bro just wanna meditate and cheat in peace lmao

Long post, but we need to raise the consciousness itt

Long post, but we need to raise the consciousness itt

Raising consciousness within a thread is a powerful endeavor that involves fostering awareness, empathy, and understanding among participants. It begins with acknowledging the diverse perspectives and experiences present within the thread, creating a space where individuals feel heard and respected. By actively listening to each other's viewpoints and engaging in constructive dialogue, participants can broaden their understanding of complex issues and challenge preconceived notions.

One effective way to raise consciousness within a thread is to promote education and knowledge sharing. This can involve sharing relevant articles, research studies, or personal experiences that shed light on the topic at hand. By providing factual information and different viewpoints, participants can deepen their understanding of the issues and engage in more informed discussions.

Another key aspect of raising consciousness within a thread is fostering empathy and compassion. This involves recognizing the humanity in each participant and acknowledging the validity of their experiences and emotions. By practicing active listening, empathy, and validation, participants can create a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and understood.

Furthermore, raising consciousness within a thread often involves challenging harmful stereotypes, biases, and discriminatory attitudes. This requires participants to critically examine their own beliefs and behaviors, and to confront instances of prejudice or discrimination when they arise. By calling attention to harmful language or actions and promoting respectful and inclusive discourse, participants can contribute to a more positive and empowering thread environment.

Ultimately, raising consciousness within a thread is an ongoing process that requires active participation and commitment from all involved. By promoting education, empathy, and critical thinking, participants can create a space where diverse perspectives are valued and respected, and where meaningful dialogue and positive change can occur.

A lot came from embracing who I am and actually listening to others' stories, which led me to experiences I never imagined I'd have. I hadn't even met someone openly gay until I was 19! Engaging with LGBTQ+ literature and media was really enlightening, and I've tried to find time to explore the works of influential queer authors. Learning about the struggles and triumphs within the community, the spirit of resilience, and ideas around identity and acceptance. Then exploring the commonalities across different cultures and their approaches to gender and sexuality depending on their geographic location, but for the most part, there are a myriad of similarities.

Politics got a bit trickier for me because I come into that with knowledge of historical discrimination and watching the systems used to marginalize LGBTQ+ people globally, but getting introduced to key thinkers and activists confirmed some of my beliefs about the community's importance in society. Great authors and a vast set of influential works.

Even learning from influential figures in the community like James Baldwin, Marsha P. Johnson, Audre Lorde, and current activists broadened my understanding of what I believed to be queer history and literature. Because I was never a mainstream type of guy, diving into LGBTQ+ history definitely opened my perspective a lot on what’s going on. Relating my personal journey to the broader struggle and stories of my friends. That’s why I resonate with those who advocate for simply living our truths peacefully.

Long post, but we need to raise awareness and foster understanding ITT.
