I’m talking s*** I love Kendrick but it’s funny as f***. On the surface that’s how it comes off with his music. He’s obviously multi faceted.

    It’s what it is tho.

It’s wrong tbh, I could kinda understand if we talking about features but how can a guy be known for concept albums and storytelling, be talking about nothing in his raps. That doesn’t make sense

Kanye actually the king of quotables. His interviews alone got more quotable than your favorite rapper

    This gives Kendrick another week

Music industry is cooked, hip hop ran dominant for years and a white woman back on top

Glad you caught on. His entire lyricism is smoke and mirrors

His greatness comes from his delivery and gimmicks

lmao most of the lyrics on TPAB, DAMN and MM can be read aloud and still hit like a truck. y'all gotta stop acting like low-stakes feature kendrick is the only version of him that exists

It’s the packaging. Doesn’t take away from his greatness but when people try to make him this lyrical genius it’s a bit overrated while Drake on the other hand doesn’t get enough credit for being a top tier lyricist.

The only time Kendrick is saying something is when he’s crooning some melodic spoken word. Other than that he’s doing some nonsensical stream of conscious thing that he packages as “conceptual”

Oh this the part where mental stability meets talent?
Oh this the part where he breaks my humility just for practice?
Lessons we learnt together, sore losers forever

He is lyrically great. There’s more to rap than just punchlines.

He really does. To such an extent that even when he’s doing “good”, he feels grief for his actions. Doing toy drives is one of those things that’s almost universally appreciated. easy positive PR. he himself has gone viral over the years for stuff like that. For him to think he’s doing more harm than good w/ that is heartbreaking

His perspective is cynical as hell but that’s also what makes his pen so strong I hadn’t even thought of viewing it that way until I heard worldwide steppers

That living with that depression, everything you touch turns to rot type of depression. I really feel like what makes the album complicated is that he doesn't walk away with a happy ending, he faces his truth then takes off the savior Cape, idk its too real of an ending and why many people hate it cause there's still some unresolved issues there, but that's life right
