I think the throughline between Ross and Kanye is this Lucien/UMG thing. To me this is the result of Drake gaining more power and these guys being tired of how he uses it. I think Kanye saying in this interview “im tired of him f***in with me” was the most telling thing because I think hes speaking for everyone to some degree.
