Name the greatest artists of all time who haven't gone big in numbers..?
These are the tastemakers
Is this a real question? Do u really think to be a great artist you have to do big numbers? And that the greatest art of all time had to sell well to be the greatest art?
Great art, if you actually read my original post, may not always sell great at the onset but will always shine thru and become valuable. An example I used was Van Gogh. Ppl will attribute value to your work regardless of your or mines opinion. It's the way the world works
there are literally a katrillion examples lmfao
Exactly. This dude never gonna understand.
Yeah I think this beef will end up like Nas vs Jay. Kendrick will smoke him but Drake fans will have a good enough diss to cope about it and Drake will probably only get bigger careerwise.
Exactly. They are a special bunch.
Idk why sales are brought up in the streaming era. You can cop like 100 devices and have them play the album 24/7. The numbers are way too easy to fake.
Tariq is all these cats favorite rappers favorite rapper
Don’t forget about Malik B! As much as I love Black Thought the early Roots albums had a lot of dope Malik verses

Vultures was f***ing horrible
Clearly you haven't heard Vultures 1.7 v32 Redux Remastered, some of his best work!

Industry artist numbers are always fake anyways lol

Artists are vain enough to do something like this too.

Cedar Block choosing Game over Dot every time.

3 projects could probably be boiled down to 10 good songs if we're being honest. Kanye is washed.

He's trying to copy Beyonce after she called Renaissance act 1
David lynch the guy who made the attrocious dune movie?
Roots is the only answer I'll take lol
Lol you clearly don’t know David Lynch
Just bc he has one stinker that he disowned afterwards (studio didn’t give him Final Cut) doesn’t take away from the fact that he made
Should I go on? Or you gonna admit you’ve only seen Dune
An example that can be used is Illmatic being a flop when it dropped. One of the greatest rap albums of the genre, with many flat-out calling it the best rap album ever made. (Agree or disagree I don't care)
I can say the band Funkadelic has released some of the best albums of the funk/psychedelic rock genre and are widely regarded as a top 5 funk band of all time. Them niggas would flop so bad they disbanded three different times throughout the 70s and 80s.
Again the point on illmatic only adds to what I'm saying. If yall read my og post you'd see that I literally said just cuz something isn't valuable at the onset doesn't mean it won't appreciate with time. Irregardless value will be attributed over time just like illmatic has appreciated in value
