Newer country is such a thin line between good and horrendous but sturgill simpson and Tyler Childers are nice
Gram is the rich boy hippie king of country unfortunately
Someone mentioned that the 12 chairs in the beginning were like the jury for a court trial.
The shipping containers are a reference to trafficking.
There's a scene where everyone's celebrating in front of the courthouse.
And it ends with an owl behind bars.
Why not both?
I agree
But we’ve been getting one side more than the other
And if its bangers like XXX its trojan horsing as some type of commentary

Unrealistic ask lol
S*** still gonna go hard let dot be dot lol
Nah that's Garth, at least of that era. I'm not even a fan but pretty sure he would've outsold Jesus in his prime. He's arguably the best selling solo artist in American history for any genre.
Pretty sure Jimmie Rodgers, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, George Jones, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson all arguably outrank George Strait, musically.
What do you think separated Garth specifically but not just in relation to country, but every major genre? Always been intrigued by that
I've never been into chart watching but with Kendrick I started paying attention. I realized that radio stations still have a huge influence on which songs hit number one on the Billboard charts.
Everyone knows NLU is the song of the year, a global hit and a hot topic across America yet it only stayed at the top for one week.
Meanwhile, crackhead Post Malone's song held the number one spot for seven weeks. If you compare streaming numbers, YT views, and Apple rankings Post's song doesn't come close to NLU but it stayed at the top for almost two months.
Hiphop is the most influential genre but hardly any hiphop songs make it to the top of the Billboard chart. It seems like music labels and radio stations are making sure hiphop doesn't dominate even more.
So, it's funny to me that people still follow charts and check the numbers every week like that loser @thegreatdivine because it's all manipulated by the labels/radio stations.
During NLU's reign I realized there are two Americas: one that represents hiphop and one that represents Post Malone/Taylor Swift etc.
Did you see a month ago when that country artist had a concert in Texas with over 100k ppl? I'd never heard of him b4 and he's a legacy act. It's nuts how many subcultures there are in the US.
I definitely agree that we all live inside our bubbles. Probably some country music fan who never heard a Kendrick or Drake song before and isn't even aware of the beef
I definitely think a lot of these songs getting a huge push from higher ups in record labels and they playing games with some of these songs
That's why I always thought valuing these charts outside of just being happy for your favorite artist succeeding is silly.
Even though numbers are the only objective measurement for art, the numbers aren't real with stream machines and all those games
We’re still talking bot streams? You guys need to get over the fact every artist bots streams if a label is behind them. It is what it is.
Doesn’t negate the fact this song has resonated with the culture on an entirely different level from any rap song we’ve heard in recent time. If you can’t acknowledge that maybe you just exist online and don’t actually have a good gauge on what’s going on IRL.
20 years from now kids will look this s*** up on YouTube just like Pac v Big. Nobody is going to care about stream bots at that point, it won’t even be a footnote in the beef.
Insisting on making it a thing is discrediting the moment we have and going out of your way to be the wrong side of history.
Imagine having a grandson ask you “tell me about Kendrick versus Drake” and you respond “well grandson, first we must discuss stream farms before we can understand who truly won this beef”. F***in geeks

Society runs on dumb niggas
It's true
peel back the layers and see it for what it's worth: just what funk flex said a career relaunch. LOL
Only bored fans are latching on to someone acting like a one hit wonder with a diss track to credit.
Look at the game. Nobody is talking about it except bloggers and journalist rejects on Youtube.
Meanwhile Drake building and slowly easing back out on the scene rubbing elbows with deep pockets that ain't caught up in a one-sided beef.
Kendrick really f***ed up. Drake rubbing elbows with Snowd4y, Jake Paul and Camila Cabello

I’m confused, where is Hot Uptown? I thought it got the Drake stimulus?

Im the wrong person to ask but I guess relentless touring of a high quality show was a big part of it. Sort of like Taylor is doing now.
