maybe this is controversial to say now, but drake wasnt always like a colonizer, to me. there was a point in his life where he had clear reverence for black music and culture outside of ratchet s***. the samples, the lyrical references, the respect for the game, just the sound of his whole s***... it's almost like he knew his place but wanted to bring something new to the culture, which for a while, he did.
