Show goes on wasn't a hit?
Felt like I heard it everywhere. That and superatar feel more like hits than kick push to me at least
Show goes on was def a hit. That and superstar. Which is my exact point. Kick and Push was a cult hit. Just like PSA by Jay Z. But in terms of mainstream potential. No one is mentioning PSA as the word that put hov onthe map.
Lupe has been desperate for a battle. RIP to anyone that makes the first move
Eh, Lupe has punches, but he doesn't really have the killer instinct which beef requires. I doubt Kendrick does either tbh. Pusha T went at Drake's throat. 50 Cent turned people's lives upside down. This would be tame by comparison.

ya itd be more of a battle of rapping/lyrics, not really a diss battle. could still be fun but not going to hurt anybody's rep or anything
Love Lupe
Love Kendrick
Not tryna hear them niggas go bar for bar in 2020
S*** bouta sound like the Great Debaters
Lupe said he was the better lyricist and punch got in his feelings when it’s true. Kendrick don’t have a Mural to his name.
exactly, it's not even a real shot. what rapper (esp. an underrated legend like lu) is not gonna pick themselves in a legit debate about lyricism? it's not that deep
Nigga I’m a 30 year old pharmacist. Lol. I was in the 11th grade. I’m not dumb. Wayne has hits in 2006. Not no f***ing Lupe fiasco.
This fire
Imagine working on a classic album clueless of the outside world and Punch interrupts your session and says “yo Kenny I need you to come record a Lupe diss track real quick”

More of this, which isn't a bad thing.

Y’all trying to recreate narratives. Kick Push wasn’t a hit record and that’s fine
As a Lupe stan I agree. It was big, but not a hit.
It's the reason we all gave a f*** about him. Not the Kanye song or Superstar. The infatuation with Lupe was the skateboard song
You think Kick Push was just a skateboard song?

It was for rap fans. You guys forget rap was not the dominant pop genre until the 2010s.
You think Kick Push was just a skateboard song?
I mean to the general public it was a skateboard song. I know the "deeper" meaning behind it

Got ya. I was going to say thats why a lot of people like Kick Push. But that aside I feel like Kick Push is only a song the casual side of his base gravitates towards. I feel like the more die hards all rally behind Mural and for good reason
Are people really too young to know Lupe was poppin at one point
Yeah he was really big. I witnessed his come up from nothing to his peak in popularity. SZA has very clearly already surpassed that, and that happened once she broke into the mainstream as a Pop/R&B act.
