After heart pt 6 and him brazenly saying he fed Kendrick the info I’m convinced he’s a cap star

Master manipulator
“ I was born on January 27, 2016
And even though it was still winter, I brought the summer in.
I was a gift, my creator gave the to the one he loved, but then he started spiraling, but it took years before the public caught up.
But now they now everything and don’t use me to feel alive no more.
Say I don’t slap because of allegations K Dot brought.
Conflicted I stand as they rewrite my history, but work is just slavery without art and rhythm.
Sincerely Me”

Ngl Kodak appearing on the album had me like 🤨 even though I got why, but still...
the closer song is literal Kendrick showing his deepest insecurities and traumas that he inherited due to sexual abuse his mother was a victim of as a child
Kodak being on this album is weird

It's to show what Kendrick could've been if he grew up without an active father lol Kodak is a mirror to a lot of kids in urban communities who grow up without guidance whether you like it or not Kendrick makes music about reality

This such a reach to justify his inclusion tbh

Not really, the album is about repeated cycles (and breaking them), Kodaks childhood, and upbringing is the root cause that led him to commit the actions he did.
It’s not like Kendrick is asking you personally to forgive Kodak and have sympathy for him, he’s using Kodak as an example of how trauma exists and continues to perpetuate itself in communities and families through generations. Kendrick also poses the question, would R Kelly do the things he did if he wasn’t victimised himself?
What Kendrick is trying to show his audience through speaking about his own trauma and vices and using Kodak as a sort of muse, is that part of the healing process is to be conscious of your traumas and how they manifest in your actions so you can get ahead of it. So you don’t end up being abusive like Kodak, or being a serial cheater and hurting and losing your partner like Kendrick. That’s how I interpret his use of Kodak on the album but I understand why people have issues with it.
yeah its been confirmed by coolie
coolie said that not like us was also made in that session but hes pretty vague
Coolie is fake, pls stop this narrative
Tragic that it didn't drop
Probably his best unreleased song with Cartoons and Cereal tbh
you didn't need to remind me C&C is unreleased :(

It’s funny to me when people try to stand tall on an opinion that you can clearly tell is not backed by the actual music itself. The post above broke it down perfectly, and if you actually understood the album you wouldn’t be questioning anything

Sidenote, Mother I Sober is probably the reason that Prayer was left out. Everything in Prayer is summarized during the final stretch of Mother I Sober

I do get what you're saying actually
My take was also that Kodak was being shown as a product of abuse that he passed on, but I was still iffy on his placement even tho I saw what k dot was doing. I do get your explanation tho.
