The Heart IV was my favorite of the series so had big expectations for this one. Sorry, this seems throwaway quality. I hope the album is different to this otherwise that’s like 5 years down the gutter.

I like Kendrick but I don’t care about his political statements. It comes across as first year art student’s opinion on Race which is why he’s great critic bait.

So for me the more calculated he is the worse he sounds. The Kendrick version I like best is when he uses his GOAT level of artistry in a more flow state.

Untitled Unmastered was his last great project for me. Everything else is too manicured, to focus-grouped and caters to a political angle which just so happens to be endorsed by everybody giving awards.

His d***riders will never understand this and why they’ll never understand Kanye or someone like Drake who are just constantly making great Art as inspiration arises.

Kendrick is so calculated it doesn’t sound like Art anymore. You can appreciate the high-level technique but the message doesn’t resonate for the ordinary person because he’s trying too hard to be 2Pac.

I didn’t mention TPAB for a reason and mentioned UU for a reason. Listen to those back to back and you’ll realise one is a f***ing chore to listen to and the other is beautiful and just as deep without hitting you over the head with the same thing again and again.

Didn't realize Kenny stans were so touchy on here. Thought it was just the ye stans..

I love Kendrick, and his first few albums are incredible to me, but I can't be the only one that thinks his voice/delivery has gotten more annoying over the years..

Still very excited for this album though

They’re not the same. UU sounds like a real Jazz session where they’re cooking up the whole album in a day.

TPAB is beating you over the head with a letter/poem he ends up explaining in the end anyway.

Just listen to the two back to back and you’ll see. The inspiration may have came from the same place but the execution on one seems more human, calculated and machine-like on the other.

funny you say that because DAMN is the Kendrick album with the least amount of listenable songs lmao, that s*** was full of skips

we need another GKMC or UU
