TheFaderIt’s harder to sell more through streams only with less tracks.
All of the highest streamed albums in the first week ever are usually 18-20+ tracks.
The ONE exception was Her Loss at 16 tracks, but it was 2022 Drake, he was still super super huge commercially

More tracks = more songs to playthrough = more streams

It’s harder because no 12 track album has ever done 300K+ via streaming only. GNX will be the first.
Also it’s simple math.
More songs = more streams total = more sales
Less songs = less songs total = less sales
Of course Drake is the exception, he’s the biggest rapper of all time. Nobody ever said he wasn’t.
But even he wouldn’t clear 300K+ with a 12 track album right now. In 2024, only Kendrick is capable of that

The math has been there. If an album has 24 songs you’re more likely to play through 16 or 18 vs just 12 songs

You don’t have to see anything. You can just look at the direct correlation between more songs and more streams that exists
