I vote for the people having the power over #waitingforsuperman I stopped f***ing with rappers as "community leaders" a long time ago.

And I mean he might've, he also might not have. And I would have had words for him censoring SZA (the same as I had words for Ed. My issue wasn't that Ed was silent, my issue was Ed just not sticking by his friend and using his own leverage)

Some of ya itt being very obtuse on why people would expect more from Kendrick regarding politics than someone like pooh sheisty lol.

Just because he said "im not your savior" on one album doesn't mean his discog gets thrown out. S*** even after Mr. Morale he still had moments of positioning himself in a way people expect that from him

I dont view rappers as community leaders but some of the fandom that does truly wait to address topics until an artist mentioned them. if Kendrick came out saying he cared about Palestinians and doing things behind the scenes his fans would say "I told you so" and go from "we dont owe them anythhing " to "FREE PALESTINE RIGHT NOW TODAY"

I dont think it’s obtuse to ask why we give the pooh sheisties of rap waaaaaay less criticism than the rappers that do be trying. (And imo, a bit overly judgy to just give the “lol those dumb niggas dont know no better” im not saying you are saying this but that is the sentiment that is voiced when this conversation is discussed)

Let’s remove all pretense and let’s say kendrick is just cosplaying as a political/conscious person (he’s not)
