Kendrick is in a constant creative flow even though he goes years without a phone
someone like Mac Miller was similar, most of the music he has on hard drives would be album material if all he wanted was to make something listenable, but some artists just feel the need to push themselves

All true. There's no stopping the creative flow when it's your lifeblood. Stopping is death for some of us.
Recently I've had a few years with music where things are happening and there's no putting the pen down. You lose sleep over your craft and it's actually a blessing because there's nothing you'd rather be doing. It's living.
Lately I've either been at work teaching my students or in a recording studio working on my album with my producer and that's been really great. I've never done a full tour but it sounds awesome because it presents an opportunity to be around people just as locked in as you. Hopefully it'll happen soon enough.
