Denzel Curry IMO, I got into his music heavy this year and love all his albums. All have different vibes/sounds and he always pushes himself in some way.

although it is true that Kendrick and team did work on music immediately after Morale, there definitely was another album planned before GNX came through. we have stories from collaborators that detailed how these songs came together within the span of just a couple months before release

what happened to the other songs? I Feel Something? Deets? it's kinda hard to believe these other songs weren't meant for another release

This has been my go-to Kenny album this year fr. It still feels really fresh IMO while also being a very listen in the best way possible. Kendrick stripping down his lyricism like that while retaining the direction of his artistry honestly blows my mind. Most importantly, it's damn fun to listen to. I always get hyped when a GNX track comes up. Imma admit the softer ones not really my thing, I only really listen to them when doing a full album listen (which was rather often this year) but I go crazy for the bangers and the storytelling tracks.

I’ve only peeped taboo, melt my eyes and the recent one w black flag but I fw Denzel heavy. I’ll have to do my research, preciate you :

ZUU is a great one to check out. One of my go-tos. Really short project, all killer no filler. If you liked KOTMS, I think you'll fw this heavy. I would describe it as having a lighter, somewhat more minimalist sound. But I also think it goes way harder.
